What do the abbreviations on the invoice mean?

Here are some invoice abbrevation meanings:

Pax# - Clients ETS Passenger ID; you will need this to make payments or changes to passenger accounts

Sts - Status
       ACT - Active Passenger Account
       SBY - Passenger on Standby; passengers on standby are not confirmed on tour and the price may be higher
       CX - Cancelled Passenger

Basic$ - Commisionable Amount on the Basic Tour

S/R$ - Single Room Charge

TPP$ - Travel Protection Plan cost

What is the maximum number of people for a private tour?

Pricing for Private Tours is based on groups of 6 to 11 guests. Pricing for 2-5 guests is avaialable upon request.

Is airfare available?

ETS is not currently offering airfare on private tours. Transfers from the airport to the Hotel are included. Guest's air schedules must be provided to ETS atleast 45 days in advance for transfers to be arranged.

Are transfers included in my package?

One airport pickup and one airport dropoff are provided on private tours. Our airport representative will hold a sign with the guests last name outside of baggage claim. The representative will escort the guests to their transfer vehicle which will drop them off at their first hotel.

When will my travel documents arrive?

Travel documents for Private Tours will be shipped once the final payment has been paid and all passport copies have been received or 45 days, whichever comes later.

Are tour conductor credits available?

ETS does not offer Tour conductor credits on Private Tours.

How much can I expect to pay for lunches and dinners?

Because you will be able to choose your dining options, prices can vary greatly.  Expect a minimum of $15 per meal up to fine dining prices.

How do I book through an agent?

Please refer to your local listings to find a licensed seller of travel and contact them or a travel professional already in your network. This travel professional will be able to make all arrangements on your behalf for our programs; flights, hotels, meals, guides, entrances fees and excursions will all be handled through them. This convenient experience will allow you to simply show up and everything will be ready for your trip of a lifetime!

Do I need a passport?

A valid passport is required to leave the USA. It should be valid for a minimum of six months after your return date. If you do not have a passport, apply for one immediately; it normally takes four to six weeks to be issued. Your passport information must be submitted to our office no later than 105 days prior to departure. You should make a copy of your passport and keep it with you while traveling.

How do I obtain a passport?

Obtain an application at your nearest passport office, courthouse, or post office. You will need a certified birth certificate (with raised seal and file number) and 2 duplicate non-glossy photographs measuring 2" x 2" taken within six months of application. What airline will I fly on?

We use many airlines, it will depend on your destination, how many people are traveling from your departure city etc.

When will I receive my flight information?

Flight information will be available approximately 2-3 weeks prior to departure. As you can imagine, coordinating flights for so many people can be a challenge. Please bear with us as we work to prepare your group's travel arrangements.

May I request special seating or meals on the flights?

Yes, requests should be submitted in writing no later than 105 days prior to departure. We cannot, however, guarantee your request will be honored by the airline.

May I purchase my own domestic tickets to the international departure city?

We strongly recommend that passengers DO NOT purchase their own tickets because of unforeseen schedule changes that may result in high cancellation fees. All flight times are subject to change without advance notice. Airlines have been known to change flight times by five or more hours or cancel flights completely. If tickets are purchased through us, we are able to help with changes and cancellations, otherwise we have no power with the airlines.

May I purchase my own international flights?

Yes, but remember, airport / hotel / pier / airport transfers are not provided to passengers who are handling their own transportation. If you are a "ground only" passenger, you will meet the group at the first hotel or ship (depending on your itinerary) and leave the group at the last hotel or pier (depending on your itinerary). If you purchase your own air transportation, you will be responsible for making your own ground transfer arrangements to/from the international airports. NOTE: Due to increased security at the airports, we recommend arriving at least two to three hours prior to departure for domestic flights. Arrive at the departure airport at least three hours prior to departure for international flights (whenever possible).

What if I do not have a roommate?

While we will try to match you with a roommate, however we cannot guarantee one will be available. Therefore, you should try to find a roommate and notify us of your selection no later than 105 days prior to departure. If no roommate can be found, you will be charged for the single room supplement as listed in the Fine Print of the brochure under Accommodations. This notification may come as late as 30 days prior to your departure.

How soon do I need to choose a pre- or post-tour (if applicable)?

Immediately. These tours can be added, space permitting, up to 105 days prior to departure. If you join a pre-tour without the rest of your group, you will meet up with them at the hotel on the 1st night of the basic tour.

Will I need vaccinations?

None are required in Israel, but you may wish to contact your personal physician for his/her advice and/or other locations.

Will I need a visa?

US & Canadian citizens do not need a visa for Israel. Visas are required for everyone traveling to Jordan & Egypt, however, we will arrange for group visas once all passport information has been received by our office.

Note: If you are not an American or Canadian citizen, you will need to check with the nearest consulate to find out if visas are required and if so, how to get one.

 

What should I expect upon arrival at the airport?

After going through passport control, you will need to collect your luggage (luggage carts may be free or available for an extra charge) and go through customs. You will be met by an airport representative outside the baggage claim area. Please follow instructions from our representative.

Will my tour schedule ever change?

We reserve the right to alter the sightseeing itinerary to accommodate changes in local conditions. If possible, you will be notified of any changes prior to departure.

Will I be able to hear my guide?

For your convenience, we are providing headsets to all groups of 15 or more people. These will allow you to stay connected to your guide, even in crowded or noisy areas.
